Barney Google Spark Plug, Sparkplug ride-on toy

Standing without reins

Here's a sparse description. Please ask questions at least 48 hours before the end of the auction.

Old Sparkplug (Spark Plug?) riding (bounce-along) toy missing its blanket and tail.
19 inches tall at the saddle.
Over 29 inches from the ground to its forelock.
About 22 inches long from his nose to where his tail should start.
The springs fit within a 16 by 35 inch rectangle on the ground.
Unpacked, Sparky weights about 6.5 pounds.
The front legs move back together. A spring pulls them forward.
The rear legs are fixed in relation to the frame.

The light crust of plastic powder on the saddle makes me think that the original blanket was made of vinyl. It probably hardened and disintegrated in use. The springs and frame are in good condition. The plastic parts show their age with scuff marks and minor damage.

Here is a list of visible damage:
The seat (saddle) is turning brittle.
There is a hole broken into the left side of the seat.
The handle on the left side is broken on the end.
Sparkplug's tail and blanket are long gone.
The top of Sparky's right ear is dinged.
There is light rust on some of the metal parts.

Please look over the pictures to get an idea of the condition.
The close up pictures of the face are slightly overexposed to show detail. The head and neck are a warm tan.

In spite of its age, wear, missing blanket and tail, and minor damage, the right size child could climb on this toy right now and go bouncing around the room.

And with an appropriately patched blanket and sisal tail, this (probably unlicensed) rendition of Sparkplug would be an asset to any Barney Google collection.

My terms are very simple. I don't like auctions where the seller hides information, so I try to describe items accurately. All your payment will be cheerfully refunded if my description is wrong. If you decide to return an item for any other reason, your bid price minus direct costs will be cheerfully refunded. For payment I strongly prefer USPO money orders, but will accept anything I can deposit. Lack of email response or slow payment will result in a relisted auction. I have never given or received negative feedback, and hope I never need to. To read my terms in more detail, go here.

If you have information to add or questions regarding the auction,
please email me jayel@juno.com at least 24 hours before the auction ends.
Thank You.

Shipping in the US is usually by Priority Mail. Heavy items may ship cheaper by UPS. Shipping outside the U.S.A. is usually less expensive and less trouble by mail. Insurance is figured into the cost of shipping unless the winner has a special need to skip insurance. In every case the winner pays only the actual cost of packing supplies (about $10 for a big box and lots of bubble pack) plus shipping. I do not charge for handling and packing, and I'm always glad to combine shipping, so please check my other sales : HERE.

THANKS FOR LOOKING!
